Still deciding if this was a good idea
-Absolute baby hours
-She is SO touched starved it’s unreal
-The first time you hold her face in your hands and just look in her eyes she starts sobbing
-Doesn’t even notice tears welling up before your holding her
-!! Hold !! Hands !!
-She melts into a puddle of blushes when you just interlock your fingers while cuddling
-Or anytime really
-Any small gesture you make digs her ten feet deeper into love
-She is lovesick boys
-If you have to go somewhere alone (school, work, esc,) on one of her bad days you’ll give her something of value for her to hold on to to prove you’ll be back.
-If the credit card has to go so be it.
-Movie Nights !!
-Specifically Disney/ Pixar
-You make a point to not watch Toy Story 2, though
-The first time she has a breakdown and you just drop everything for her she’s weakend
-She thinks your going to leave her and suddenly a blanket’s around her shoulders? And your rubbing her back? And lowering her to the ground?
-Be still her traumatized heart
-Be warned if you cook for her make it something that’s good cold because she’ll need a good 5 minutes to cry about it.
-She is just baby and we treat her as such
- the first time you ask to cuddle with her she just goes UwU
- tears in her eyes when you wrap around her in your sleep
- it takes her awhile to finally get used to it.
- she doesn’t want to hurt you or scare you :(
- but when she doES
- absolute baby
- wraps around you like a blanket
- pet her hair and she purrs like a cat
- she might put down her hair so you can run your hands through it
- when you do she turns into a limp little noodle
- the amount of times the others have walked in on you two is immense
- buying multiple blankets for ultimate comfort
- but at the end if the day, anything cuddling with you is comforting
A/N: I went completely off the walls fellas… but when do we complain about a wedding?
She twiddles with the ring on her left hand, nervously reaching up to tug at her bow tie. Her breathing hitches as Garnet lays a hand on her shoulder.
“Are you ready for the first dance?”
Her pink eyes shut before her chest takes in a large breathe. She scrubs her face with a white glove clad hand and let’s out a shaky sigh.
“Y-yes, but..”
“but?”
“what if she regrets it?”
After the ceremony they left together for the reception, separating for a brief moment to get ready for their first dance. It obviously wasn’t brief enough.
Doubt swirled through her mind, looking at the fond memory with fear. Forever was such a very long time, time she wanted to spend with (Y/N), but would (Y/N) really want to spend it with her?
She let out a sad laugh, blinking away tears.
“I- I mean- who would want to spend so much time with me? P- Pink didn’t… Oh! Steven’s just going to walk though that door and tell me she called it off! Or! Or!”
Her pink suit, once an object of pride, began choking her. She wanted to run, run away and let you be free, let you be happy. She reached for her ponytails.
That is until Garnet’s hand stopped her. She turned her head, only to gasp at the sight of three eyes.
“Spinel, for once in my existence, all streams of possibility flow in one river. It all leads to you taking her hand to dance…”
A small smile formed as she put on her glasses.
“At your anniversary.”
Spinel smiles and laughs, wiping her eyes. Doubt slowly leaving.
“Spinel!”
Both gems turn toward Amethyst, the doubt in Spinel’s gem greatly subsided.
“She’s all ready for ya, cheif.”
They walk together through the hallway, Garnet and Amethyst breaking off to go to the others. Spinel kept going. She stopped when she found the beauty in white.
Her hair curled beautifully around her face, the white dress giving her a radiance the diamonds could only yearn for. The lace veil reaching the floor.
She turned at the sound of footsteps, and Spinel saw the greatest feature. A great big beaming smile, even present in her sleep, graced her face.
“Ready Honey?” Spinel whispered.
“Yes Dear.”
The nickname made her gem warm.
“Well dear sure is new.”
“Watching Lady and the Tramp with your fianceé gives you a flare for the romantic I guess,” her smile this time is one of pure love, and Spinel finds comfort in knowing she was wrong.
They both lean forward to share a quick kiss, before the door opens to Steven’s face.
“Should I tell dad to start the song?”
They give him a quick yes and he smiles wide, tears from the ceremony glimmering on his cheek, and closes the door.
“If we have a kid I want their name to be Steven.”
The statement jolts (Y/N) with its blunt delivery, looking to the smiling gem.
“I- what if it’s a daughter?” She responds in surprise.
“Still Steven.”
They share a hushed laugh before the first notes of their song drifts through the doors. The white glove of Spinel’s hand reaches put and receives a firm squeeze before the doors open.
The doors open to reveal the open-air venue, a patio open to the beach. Friends and family all watching them with eager smiles.
They step forward to stand under the fairy lights and open sky, arms interlocked.
Spinel can feel her gem heat up when they both begin to sway to the song, her hands around her wife’s waist and the other’s around her neck. It was slow, deliberate, sweet.
Every step sent her higher to the clouds, letting her body become more relaxed. Their foreheads touched one another as they leant into the other’s embrace.
With one final kiss they parted, and Spinel couldn’t wait for that anniversary.
It was quiet in the temple, Pearl Amethyst and Garnet off in their rooms. Steven sat on the couch, anxiously looking at the door. He jumped up when he saw Spinel come through the door.
“Spinel! What did she-” he stopped talking when he noticed her shaking limbs.
“Didn’t ask her.”
He gave her a puzzled look and she sighed, her body relaxing into a pile on the floor. Steven walked over.
“Spinel, I thought you wanted to go on a date with her.”
“I do! I do, what if she says no? What if she thinks I’m crazy and doesn’t want to be my friend? Steven I-I can’t ask her!”
Her arms looped around herself more and more until she was completely enveloped and shaking on the floor. Panic filled her chest and tears started welling up before Steven put a hand on her shoulder to stabilize her. He had been through the motions before, having helped her to first realize her crush.
“Spinel, do you love her?”
“Y-yeah, but what if she-,”
“Why do you love her?”
Her eyes widened a bit, and her face grew hot.
“W- whenever I’m around her I feel, whole and… complete. I feel…”
Steven saw the smile growing on her face, the warm glow of love enter her eyes. A sort of pride and content.
“I feel found.”
“And why is that?”
“She listens to me, stays with me, teaches me things, and she comforts me.”
“If she is so nice, would she leave you for something so painless as love.”
The sigh leaves her chest as though she was punched in the gut, realization crossing her face.
He was right, she wouldn’t.
Her body unwound itself and she stood up, ready to go with a new confidence.
Ready to feel found.
Warnings: angst, shattering, (start of) panic attack, death.
The enemy’s weapon rose up and pointed at her, swinging down. She could do nothing but freeze up, and block the hit. She felt something slam into her, and a loud cracking sound rung in her ear. It all went fuzzy, but she felt that something was wrong.
‘Is this really what shattering feels like?’
Her mind asked. Before she could answer herself, Pearl and Amethyst were pulling her by her arms to the side as loud bangs sounded in the distance.
Her eyes opened when the sounds subsided. What she was met with was the eyes of all her friends, looking at her in mourning. How did she survive…?
Her eyes spotted something in the distance, a deep fear filling her gem till it sunk. Garnet tried to stop her but it was no use. She stood up and stepped forward, another step, another step. Until she stood face to face with her worst nigmare.
Shards of gemstone littered the ground, large chunks and small, shimmering in the grass. Taunting her. Chest heaving, her knees caved inwards as her trembling hands reached forward. Dancing over the crystals before picking one up.
It was sickening, the exact same color as your-
She looked around frantically, trying to find you to prove this wasn’t you. The tears rolled down her face when all she saw was the crystal gems looking at her in pain, but not the same pain she felt in her gem.
The pain grew more and more, the anger and panic increasing as well. A hand touched her shoulder and she was running. Running far past the buildings, past the temple, all the way down to the beach. Steven ran as fast as he could, only catching up when her knees became far too weak to hold her.
He walked up behind her, watching her hyperventilate on the sandy ground, wheezing her breath through clenched teeth. Her arms were coiled around her form, almost tight enough to poof, two hands clenching something in front of her gem.
“Spinel…”
He couldn’t find any words this time, nothing came to him to help soothe the heartbroken gem before him. Her form tensed at his voice, before untangling itself.
“W-why…” her voice was broken, weak and soaked in pain.
She took in a gulp of air before a guttural scream tore out of her throat; her hands rose above her and slammed into the ground, causing a shockwave that tossed Steven in the air.
“WHY?!” Another hit.
“WHY?!” Another.
The hits weakend, her arms becoming wobbly and shaky. Her shrieks never stopping, Steven finally crouching down and reaching an arm around her back.
When her question died down to a whisper, a sob wrenched out of her chest. Her face turned hot with tears, and soon she was bawling into Steven’s shirt.
Minutes crawled by slowly, her sobs filling the air. Her hands slowly opened to reveal one of the shards, glimmering in the light.
“W-why? Why did she do it? Sh-she promised to never leave. Why did she leave?”
Steven sighed, hugging her closer. His mouth opened, and then closed. He was speechless, tears welling up in his own eyes. He didn’t know, he really didn’t know.
“Spinel, I think…”
A tear rolled down his cheek, Spinel continued to cry as she felt his chest start to shake as well.
“I think she really loved you.”
She continued crying, pressing the shard to her chest, and whimpered.
That was before she woke up.
For the lovely Anons that requested spinel fusions.
“So, what was this again?” The pink gem asked, her arm curling into a spiral and scratching her head.
“Oh, It’s an old boom box Greg gave me back when he was still trying to get on our good sides. Who knew you could loosen this gem up with a cassette, huh?” The gem chuckled, crouching down to grab a hold of the object.
“Hey Spins, could you rope your arms around this thing so I don’t break it?” Spinel nodded eagerly, tying her hose like arms in a mock knot, and tugging up with her girlfriend.
“Hey, (Y/N), why’d you want to show me this? I don’t see them anymore.”
“Great question! Well, you see, if you want to know about Earth you’ve gotta know some history!” With her last word, she plucked a cassette out from the boxes.
“I hope I was careful enough with these, I’d hate for them to be broken.”
Spinel was already lost in her thoughts, watching the light catch in her eyes, and shine off her gem, wondering what made her so lucky- that was until she heard a tune start to play. She watched the gem in front of her begin to dance a bit, twirling in place.
“You liked dancing with Greg? Is that how you two became friends?” It was well known that you and him had a bond. You were the only Crystal Gem to treat him, well, human when Rose had left. It was how you met Spinel, she stayed with Steven, and Steven had introduced you when you visited Greg.
“Well yeah, I like dancing with anybody. Right now? I wanna dance with my lovely girlfriend,” she made a quick turn and stopped, reaching out a hand. Spinel blushed a deep pink, grabbing the hand and pulling herself up.
She let the other gem lead her, placing Spinel’s hands on her shoulders and her hands around Spinel’s waist. When they were comfortable, they started to gently sway to the music.
It was a slow song, and as Spinel listened further, a love song at that. She could feel her cheeks go hot and a smile stretch across her face; resting her head on her shoulder.
“So sugar, I’m guessing you didn’t pick this song randomly?”
“What made you think that?”
They both bursted out laughing, Spinel taking the chance to spin (Y/N) into a dip, both gems glowing a bright light.
When the glowing stopped they sat on the floor. Something was different.
(Y/N) felt much… looser than normal. While Spinel felt strangely big.
Together they sat up, sighing in unison. They each brought a hand up to their smiling face.
Their eyes shot open looking at their hands, a marbled mix of magenta and (gem color) peeking through fingerless gloves. They stood up, stroking a hand down one of the two ponytails laying on their chest.
“My stars, look at us!” The fusion clamped a hand to her mouth, giggling at the strong 30’s accent that poured out her lips.
A mutual feeling of excitement welled up in their shared chest, touching the two gems that made up their form.
“We fused, I, what? Huh??”
They dissolved into another fit of giggles, unfusing in their delight. Turning off the boom box and clasping hands, they got up to head to the temple.
The curtains are drawn when she walks in with Steven and the others, sitting at their assigned seats. She was buzzing with excitement. Her girlfriend was in a play! A leading role too!
The lights went down and everyone quieted down. The curtain went up and there you were, dressed in a costume, hair done up with glowy makeup on. While singing you gave your name, the maiden in the moon.
—
The theatre was quiet, watching your figure sing a song about your fall. How lonely you had been.
“I was locked away without a key. And when I broke free, nobody was there. Nobody who cared.”
How your brother, the sun, banished you from your kingdom. Tarnishing your name so when you tried to break free, none of your people even wanted you.
“I made a fool of me, believing, the sun would shine again.”
She didn’t even recognize the tears streaking down her face, gem throbbing in a familiar way.
“How foolish of me, to think I deserve a happy end.”
Your haunting voice carried through the theatre, until it ended with a sharp sob. The protagonist coming forth to give you a hug.
Spinel flinched as she heard you, the girl that held her at her worst, let out a piercing scream.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!”
—
With endless tears on her cheeks, Spinel sat smiling at the Maiden of the Moon reunite with her subjects and be recrowned. With new friends to love her.
She saw you step out, the crown of stars shining lights on your own tear stained face.
“My my, what can this be? A whole new destiny? A family, sewn with more than blood and bone? I have found the key, and the people greeting me, soothes an eternity of pain.”
Tears streak down her face at your song. A confusing sob forces it’s way out her throat, happiness flooding her gem. She thought crying was only for sadness?
“The kingdom’s mine again. Take my hand and walk with me my friends. Rejoice. The sun has has shone again.”
You held the last note with confidence, all 20 people in the cast holding an outstretched hand with you, seemingly looking ahead to the future.
Spinel was the loudest in the theatre when the song stopped and you swept into a bow.
One of your friends working tech let the entirety of the Crystal Gems and Spinel back stage. You turn around with a big smile when your hear the squeak of her boots, immediately being tackled. Another actor quickly grabs the crown as it tumbles from your head.
“Spins! I didn’t see you in the audience! How did you like it?.”
She gave you a long kiss on the cheek, “I absolutly loved it dollface. Who wrote that story?”
“No one Spins.”
Confusion showed in her gaze, looking at you in wonder.
“But I told yours.”
With a quick peck on the gem’s forehead, you were off to change.
